6 characteristics of woven fabrics
In general, woven fabrics are:
1. Very organized. Woven fabrics often have a lot of structure, retaining their shape rather than draping softly around objects. This fabric type is also not very stretchy and will stay stiff if you pull hard.
2. Wrinkles and creases easily. Because of its structure, woven fabrics are prone to wrinkling and creases, so they need frequent ironing to look smooth and pristine.
3. Often rough. Woven fabrics are usually made from strands that are not as soft as knitted fabrics, resulting in a fabric that is slightly rough to the touch.
4. Durable. The woven fabric is extremely durable, retains its shape and resists pilling through multiple washes.
5. Easy to sew. Since woven fabrics generally don't have a lot of elasticity, they are easy to sew without creases or creases.
6. Expensive. Weaving the fabric together is usually more time-consuming than weaving. As a result, woven fabrics tend to be more expensive to purchase, whether as fabric or ready-made garments.
